We need to register the Wensum teams for the 2010/2011 Norwich & District Table Tennis League by 20th June 2010 so I urgently need to know who wants to play and where next season. I have put together a form for everyone to fill in to let me know what they want to do and I need you all to return it to me by Saturday 12th June 2010. I would prefer email returns but will have copies of the forms at the club next week for anyone to fill and return to me on paper.
Secondly we are going to try something different this year and see if we can run the Wensum 2009/2010 tournament
during the evening sessions that we hold at the club with a staged Finals night on a Friday club night. As the school holidays are coming up, however, we have a limited number of weeks that we can run the tournament before everyone starts going away so we have targeted the week commencing 14th June and week commencing 21st June to run the events with the Finals night on Friday 25th June. This means we need your entries quickly though to see if we have enough competitors to run the events. Attached is an entry form for the competition which includes a variety of events that should give everyone a chance of winning. We have the normal Wensum handicap competition where the handicaps are set for each match, we have a new restricted singles event for those who play in Division 3 or 4 or are not yet in the league and we have a "blue bat" competition suggested by one of our up and coming youngsters Finn Brocklesby where each competitor will play with the same bat, the indestructible blue bats that Mark now uses for starting youngsters playing in schools. All events are open to all club members plus anyone who attends coaching or practice nights at the club and we look forward to a good entry for what promise to be fun, exciting and competitive events. So please get your entry forms filled in and sent back to me again by Saturday 12th June 2010 so I can see whether we can go ahead. Email entries are accepted so this is the quickest way to get them in. Otherwise forms will be available at the club every night next week so bring your pens and your entry fees and you can enter right there and then.
The club will be open as normal on the tournament dates for those who want to practice and are not in the events that may be being played.
